We are seeking x2 Directors, to work 16 hours per fortnight each.
About the Role
Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS) seeks to appoint a Clinical Director. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to make an outstanding leadership contribution in supporting the development of a cohesive, integrated and coordinated multidisciplinary approach to best practice cancer care across south and east Melbourne. There is an emphasis of introduction of modern cancer quality pedagogies and on program implementation and evaluation. This position is a fixed term 24 month role.
About Us
Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS) was established in May 2004. It is one of three metropolitan, five regional, and one paediatric Integrated Cancer Services (ICS) established and funded by the Department of Health (DH) to assist with the implementation of the Victorian Government’s cancer reform agenda. These reforms are being implemented by Integrated Cancer Services (ICS), that are partnerships between health services with responsibility for facilitating the planning, and improvements in integration and coordination of cancer services across a specified geographic region to improve the delivery of cancer services through the development of clear and formal communication processes, referral patterns and relationships between services to meet the needs of people with cancer. SMICS is not a direct provider of services, but facilitates system development and service improvement by supporting local services. Services include public hospitals, community-based services, general practitioners, private hospitals and supportive care services. The governance of the organisation is further underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding between SMICS and its member health services. There are organisations who are informal members of the SMICS Governance Committee such as South East Primary Health Network, Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium, South East Metro Health Service Partnership.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will demonstrate the following:

Develop and maintain a level of influence amongst peers which is aligned with clinical best practice which proactively facilitates and enables positive change;

Be guided by contemporary evidence based practice;

Provide clinical system level leadership
