Seeking a doctor to fill a clinical position at the Sexual Medicine and Therapy Clinic - Moorabbin Campus, Monash Health 

The Sexual Medicine and Therapy clinic is a weekly outpatient clinic held on a Thursday morning at Moorabbin Hospital, Monash Health. It is one of only two public outpatient clinics in Victoria, specifically for seeing patients with sexual difficulties. We adopt a biopsychosocial perspective in the assessment and management of our patients. We are inclusive of diversity of gender, sexual orientation, cultural and neurodiversity. We are happy to see individuals, couples, or any relationship configuration.  

Common clinical presentations include: 

  • An inability to have sexual intercourse / penetrative or receptive sex.  

  • Sexual pain. 

  • Sexual desire, arousal and/or orgasmic difficulties  

  • Erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction. 

  • Concerns around sexual orientation, identity, or any aspects of sexuality. 

  • Sexual dysfunction as a consequence of co-morbidity and/or it’s treatment (eg cancer; neurological disease).  

The consultant will also be involved in collaborating in peer group supervision as well as educating medical students rotating through the clinic.  

The candidate for this position will need to be a medical practitioner with a specialist qualification either in General Practice or another appropriate specialty such as Psychiatry. They will have a prior interest in and experience in psychological medicine/psychotherapy, and an interest in the management of sexual difficulties.
