About the Role

Monash BreastScreen is part of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program, BreastScreen Australia. The program is jointly funded by both state and federal governments and aims to screen 70% of women aged 50-74 years. There are over 250,000 eligible women (i.e. Women aged 40+ are eligible; women 50-74 specifically targeted) in the Monash BreastScreen catchment of South East Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula. Women are screened in community based centres and if assessment is required, they return to Moorabbin Hospital, Monash Health. Monash BreastScreen performs more than 64,000 screening examinations per year.     

 

About the Role  

Monash BreastScreen has a vacancy for suitably skilled radiographer wanting to join an encouraging and high performing team. We offer flexible working hours, ongoing education and a supportive team environment. The primary role is for screening mammography undertaken at Moorabbin, Waverley and Casey Hospital screening sites as well as in the Monash BreastScreen Assessment Clinics located at the Moorabbin Hospital.  The role is ongoing part time. Monday - Friday. Some Saturday or evening work is available for those who like to work after hours but is not mandatory. Prior experience in breast imaging is required.     

Training and Development:     

  • Opportunities for training and development are provided, including the chance to work in the Monash Breast Screening and Assessment Clinics with a multi-disciplinary team to diagnose patients;    

  • The Breast Screen Victoria (BSV) Radiographer Training Centre (RTC) is managed by Monash Breast Screen was established to educate and promote best practise in breast imaging to radiographers within Breast Screen Victoria and has been extended to radiographers working within the diagnostic setting. RTC has been providing accredited training to radiographers in CCPM to meet that demand since 2001. The RTC Academic modules of training has been transferred from a Face to face environment to an On-line platform, giving those enrolled in the program to the flexibility to complete the training in your home environment, during the hours that suite you.     

  • The RTC provides opportunities to staff who may be interested in a training portfolio as the next steps in their career     

 

About You

What You Need:     

  • Relevant Qualification (aligned to position description)     

  • Demonstrated experience (aligned to position description noting no reference to years of experience)     

  • Current AHPRA registration     

  • Radiation Use license
