About the Role

This is a Full Time Fixed Term Medical Imaging Technologist Grade 2 position within our close-knit team.

The Grade 2 Medical Imaging Technologist is required to assist with the daily operation of Imaging Services and ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. The department is very supportive of CPD for all of our staff. As a Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT/Radiographer) at Monash Health you will have professional responsible for all technical aspects of the imaging of patients within their area of work you are credentialed to work these tasks will include image production, quality control, patient care, radiation safety and archiving. In collaboration with medical, nursing, nursing support and reception staff to ensure all patients are safely and efficiently imaged as required.

A Grade 2 MIT has additional experience and demonstrates a degree of competence and ability to work independently and without supervision. This role will support modality Site Supervisors within Monash Health Imaging. This position will work in conjunction with the site Chief & Deputy Chief MITs, site modality supervisors, network modality supervisors and the divisional sub-specialty heads.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and training medical imaging students
  • Supervision of staff, including clinical supervision of Grade 1 MITs
  • Supervision of a section of the department  Working night shift and being on-call
  • Demonstrable extensive or special knowledge in any of the specialist modalities or areas of additional responsibilities such as computed tomography (CT), digital subtraction angiography (DSA), cardiac angiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology information system (RIS) or quality assurance activities

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Current Victorian Radiation Use Licence
