About the Role

The Nurse Manager (NM) of Moorabbin Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) is a key leadership position within Cancer Services. You will be working closely with the Cancer Ward NM’s at Moorabbin and Clayton, the NM of Medical Infusion Unit at MMC Clayton as well as Peter MacCallum radiotherapy who have a satellite site at Moorabbin. CDU is currently open Monday and Friday 0700-1830 and Tuesday to Thursday 0800-2130.
This is a Full Time ongoing opportunity, working Monday to Friday to commence as soon as possible.
About Us
Since opening in 1975, Moorabbin Hospital has become one of Victoria’s leading medical and research facilities, building a tradition of high-quality care for its community. We are home to the Monash Cancer Centre, one of Victoria’s premier integrated cancer treatment centres, providing care in a longstanding partnership with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. As a 24-chair ambulatory care unit, CDU is also part of the Southern Melbourne Integrated Care Service which supports the Cancer services at Peninsula Health, Cabrini Health & Alfred Health. CDU treats both Oncology and Haematology patients, supported by Peter MacCallum radiology services. In the 22-23 financial year we treated over 871 new patients resulting in over 10,800 treatments.

Clinical Leadership experience - essential

Extensive Chemotherapy/Oncology experience, essential

Masters/ Post Graduate Certificate Cancer Nursing, desirable
-
Current AHPRA registration, essential
-
ADAC accredited or willing to undertake, essential

Project Management experience, highly desirable
-
Skilled in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of care at a consistently high standard.

Work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes

Establish and maintain effective communication with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health.

Consistently role model Nursing and leadership excellence, demonstrating your commitment to patient and family centred care and best practice standards.

The ability to lead and motivate a team to work effectively together in a clinical setting.

Excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills.
