The Chemotherapy Day Unit at Moorabbin Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and committed Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Cancer Services team.
About Us
Moorabbin Chemotherapy Day (CDU) Unit is a 24 ambulatory care unit which operates Monday to Friday 0700 to 2130. The unit treats on average 45-50 patients a day ranging from patients with solid tumours to blood disorders.
Our Chemotherapy Day Unit provides care to over 2,000 patients annually, delivering high-quality patient-centred oncology services. This role offers the advantage of Monday to Friday working hours with no night duty, supporting a healthy work-life balance. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional cancer care within a leading healthcare organisation.
We currently have Ongoing positions available, both Full Time and Part Time hours can be accommodated, offering a supportive and progressive work environment.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse of the Moorabbin CDU, you will be supported by a key clinical leadership team, assisting you in delivering clinical outcomes and management of patients within the Moorabbin CDU. You will be supported by a mentoring /buddy program as well as ongoing educational support.
If appointed, you will be responsible for:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, including safe administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies.
- Provide patient-centred education and ensure informed consent and understanding of treatment prior to administration.
- Verify all medication orders and safely store, prepare, and administer treatments in accordance with protocols.
- Monitor patients for immediate and delayed effects, escalating and documenting concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care and continuity across the patient journey.
About You
- Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based cancer care.
- Developing (or keen to develop) skills in anti-cancer therapy administration.
- Committed to patient-centred care and aligned with Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles
- Motivated team player eager to contribute to a dynamic Cancer Services environment.
What You Need
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Relevant clinical experience (oncology highly regarded; ADAC trained or willing to commence)
- Australian working rights.
- Willingness to contribute to quality improvement initiatives and meet National Standards.
