About the Role

Join our team as a Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant, supporting both Acute Occupational Therapy (0.7 EFT) and Podiatry (0.3 EFT) services. This is a fantastic chance to become part of a high-performing, collaborative team. This is a fixed term opportunity, working across multiple sites and is open to full time and part time applicants.

 

You will be responsible for providing support and leadership within the Casey AHA team, actively contributing to the Monash Health AHA leadership group and promoting the AHA profession both internally and externally to Monash Health.

 

The role provides opportunity to work in Multi-disciplinary model with a supportive allied health professionals. Responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately document client progress and maintain documents as required
  • Demonstrate a capacity to work flexibly across a broad range of therapeutic and program related activities
  • Identify client circumstances requiring additional input from the allied health professional
  • Provide supervision to other Allied Health Assistants and students as required
  • Maintain currency of knowledge of computer programs as required e.g. EMR, Harrison, HMS, SMR, Microsoft Office
  • Provided non-clinical assistance to the Allied Health Clinicians and Managers.

 

About Us

The Allied Health Adult Inpatient Care (AHAIC) Program provides all bed-based allied health services (excluding Monash Children’s Hospital and Mental Health) at Casey, Dandenong, Moorabbin and the Victorian Heart Hospitals as well as at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, the Kingston Centre and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital. Some services are also provided at Cranbourne Centre, 122 Thomas Street and Pakenham Health Hub.

 

About You 

The successful candidates will be required to participate in/lead programs, processes and quality improvement activities as part of our Allied Health Assistant team. You will be responsible for representing the Casey Allied Health Assistant team at Monash Health AHA group meetings and will demonstrate excellence in initiative and program implementation and a commitment to ongoing evaluation and best practice. Communication and working effectively in a team are pivotal to this role. 

 Qualification and licence requirements include:

  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance 
  • Relevant experience working as an AHA in a health care setting preferred 
  • A current Australian Drivers Licence
