About the Role

Join our team as an Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) in a permanent part time capacity (56hours per fortnight) on a rotating roster to work in the Rehabiltiation and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward at Casey Hospital. We are seeking an experienced ANM to join the leadership team to work with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent clinical care and improving pateint experiences during their admission. 

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the ANM will lead the team on the shift, being responsible for the clinical and operational outcomes of patients and staff. With proven communication and employee management skills, the ANM will be resposnble for rostering and maintaining a safe skill mix accoriding to the Safe Patient Care Act 2015 and is expected to be a proactive leader in quality and safety, taking on a portfolio to improvve service, action any gaps and ensure compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.  

You will engage in activities to service career progression, taking on professional development opportunities and theoretical studies.  The ANM is responsible for ensuring staff and undergraduates are working wthin their Scope of Practice, ensuring timely discharge planning, facilitate the patients safe and effective transition from hosptial to home by way of referral to approropaitely health resources and services.

 

About Us

Ward H has 20 Rehabilitation and 10 GEM beds and located on the ground floor at Casey Hospital.  We work closely as a multidisciplinary team which includes allied health and medical teams to support patients to return home, go into aged care or supported disability accommodation. Common patient admissions include but not limited to:

  • Stroke
  • Fractures post falls
  • Funcitonal decline
  • Reconditioning post CA diagnosis / treatment
  • Rehabiltation post surgey e.g. crainotomy, hip and knee replacements, abdominal resections, amputations

 

About You

You have experience as an ANM in a rehabilitation and/or GEM ward with developed leadership skills to lead a team.  The role will see you liaising with a wide set of internal and external stakeholders, therefore the ability to engage and build strong relations with effective verbal and written communication skills is important.  You will have a demonstrated skills in providing high- quality, evidence based patient care in line with Monash Healths guiding principles in Excellence in Timely Care (EiTC) and iCare values.  You have skills and knowledge of Functional Independence Measures (FIMs), Case Conferences and report writing for Access Referral Forms (ARFs) and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Reports.  You have proven clinical and technical skills and practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Nurse Professional Standards.
