Job summary


Purpose
Support and assist the Unit Head of the Emergency Department, Monash Health in the provision of high quality Emergency Department services at Casey Hospital, consistent with the Monash Health values.

This position is based at Monash Health Casey Emergency Department, Berwick

Key result areas

  • Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
  • Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
  • Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation and subsequent management of critically ill or injured patients.
  • Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Emergency Department, Monash Health.
  • Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees and fora.
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Emergency Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients.

 

Scope
This is a permanent part time role, based in the Casey Hospital Emergency Department. Flexible hours to be agreed with the Unit Head of Emergency Medicine + an on call requirement

 

Person specification
 Qualifications/registrations/licences

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine
  • Working with Children's Certificate
     

Credentialing and Scope of Practice

As part of the application process, the incumbent must complete the Credentialling and Scope of Practice process prior to appointment and commencement. Academic Appointments
The successful candidate may also be offered an academic appointment in the relevant school in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University should their qualifications and experience warrant such appointment.
