About the Role
 
We are looking for a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dandenong & Casey Hospital in a full time, ongoing capacity. You will form an integral part of the wider Allied Health and ward multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, speech therapists, dieticians, social workers, medical staff, and nursing staff. 
 
In this role, you will be responsible for a caseload of clients, enabling them to improve their participation in occupations, with varying conditions including:
 
  • Medical conditions including: e.g., respiratory and general medicine, cardiac infectious diseases, rheumatology
  • Surgical patients e.g. orthopaedics, gastroentology 
  • Neurological conditions e.g. stroke, brain and spinal surgeries, Parkinson’s Disease, MS
  • Older persons, including delirium and dementia
  • Young adults with complex disability e.g. cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disability
  • NDIS participants (new and existing)
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Striving to achieve the best care outcomes for our patients and their families/carers
  • Completing occupational assessments, setting goals with your clients and the multidisciplinary team 
  • Completing occupational based interventions

You are enthusiastic about learning and bring a proactive, team-focused attitude to your work. You communicate clearly, build strong interpersonal connections, and know how to engage patients in every step of their treatment journey. Above all, you are patient-centred, committed to helping each individual achieve their best possible recovery and quality of life.
 
Qualification & licence requirements include: 
 
  • Occupational Therapy AHPRA registration and Victorian driver’s license
  • Appropriate degree qualification
