About the Role
 
 
We are looking for a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist to join our team in this rotation position primarily across Dandenong & Casey Hospital in a full time, ongoing capacity. You will form an integral part of the wider Allied Health and ward multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, speech therapists, dieticians, social workers, medical staff, and nursing staff. This role will give you the opportunity to rotate into Acute, Subacute, Community Health & Community Rehabiltation settings.
 
 
In this role, you will be responsible for a caseload of clients, enabling them to improve their participation in occupations, with varying conditions including:
 
  • Medical conditions including: e.g., respiratory and general medicine, cardiac infectious diseases, rheumatology
  • Surgical patients e.g. orthopaedics, gastroentology 
  • Neurological conditions e.g. stroke, brain and spinal surgeries, Parkinson’s Disease, MS
  • Older persons, including delirium and dementia
  • Young adults with complex disability e.g. cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disability
  • NDIS participants (new and existing)
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Striving to achieve the best care outcomes for our patients and their families/carers
  • Completing occupational assessments, setting goals with your clients and the multidisciplinary team 
  • Completing occupational based interventions

Qualification & licence requirements include: 
 
  • Occupational Therapy AHPRA registration
  • Victorian driver’s license
  • Appropriate degree qualification
