About the Department / Program
Monash Health Pharmacy provides comprehensive medication management services across a large and complex health network, supporting safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Our Emergency Medicine Pharmacy teams are embedded within busy Emergency Departments, delivering timely clinical pharmacy services for acutely unwell patients. Working closely with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams, pharmacists play a vital role in supporting rapid clinical decision-making, optimising medication use and improving patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
As the Pharmacist Team Leader – Emergency Medicine Casey, you will be based at Casey Hospital on a part-time (0.4 EFT), 12-month fixed-term basis. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy – Casey Hospital and Technician Development, you will work collaboratively with pharmacy, medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, patient-centred pharmacy services and support service growth across Monash Health.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist to lead Emergency Medicine Pharmacy services at Casey Hospital, providing clinical leadership within a fast-paced Emergency Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and reviewing clinical pharmacy activity within the Casey Emergency Department
- Supporting staff to meet clinical activity targets and deliver high-quality patient care
- Developing and reviewing emergency medicine medication profiles, protocols, procedures and patient information resources
- Overseeing the safe use, documentation and reporting of specialised medicines in the Emergency Department
- Leading training and credentialling of pharmacy staff for advanced emergency response roles, including sepsis and stroke calls
- Driving governance and quality improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department pharmacy service
- Collaborating with Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Team Leaders across Monash Health to ensure consistent practices and workflows
This role requires participation in pharmacy rosters, including after-hours, weekend and on-call services, and flexibility to work across Monash Health sites as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams
- Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, ideally with emergency medicine or acute care exposure
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environments
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement and medication safety
- Excellent organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Mandatory Requirements
- Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Relevant hospital pharmacy experience
- Evidence of required employment screenings and immunisations in line with Monash Health policy
