  • Ongoing Registered Midwife opportunity within Midwifery Group Practice
  • Provide continuity of care to women and families across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period
  • Join a supportive and growing maternity service at Casey Hospital

As our maternity service continues to grow alongside one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing communities, we’re looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Midwife to join our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) at Casey Hospital.

This is an opportunity to practise midwifery in a model that places relationships, continuity and woman-centred care at its heart. You’ll work in partnership with women and families throughout their maternity journey, providing personalised, evidence-based care while working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

About the role

As a Registered Midwife within MGP, you’ll provide continuity of midwifery care to an allocated caseload of women across pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.

Working with a small team of midwives, you’ll build trusted relationships with women and families and support informed decision-making, individual choice and positive maternity experiences.

Your role will include:

  • Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care
  • Working in partnership with women and families throughout their maternity journey
  • Managing an allocated caseload within the MGP model of care
  • Supporting physiological birth and providing evidence-based, individualised care
  • Working collaboratively with your MGP colleagues to provide continuity and back-up care
  • Recognising and responding to changes in maternal or fetal wellbeing and escalating appropriately
  • Collaborating with obstetric, neonatal and allied health colleagues when additional or complex care is required
  • Supporting informed decision-making and respecting women’s individual needs, preferences and choices
  • Contributing to quality improvement and the ongoing development of continuity of care at Casey

This is an ongoing fulltime opportunity to work a rotating 24/7 roster and also requires On Call.

About you

You’re an experienced Registered Midwife who is passionate about continuity of care and enjoys building meaningful relationships with women and families.

You’ll bring:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
  • Demonstrated contemporary midwifery experience across the maternity continuum
  • A genuine interest in working within a continuity or caseload model of care
  • Confidence working autonomously while recognising when collaboration and escalation are required
  • A strong commitment to woman-centred, culturally safe and evidence-based care
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility and an understanding of the commitment required to work within an MGP model
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to supporting your fellow MGP midwives
