Monash Children’s Hospital’s Early Parenting Centre (EPC) in Casey, provides specialist support for Victorian families with children from birth to four years of age. The centre delivers flexible, targeted services that aim to enhance the parent-child relationship and supports parents with strategies to achieve their parenting goals in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour and parent and child health and wellbeing.
The EPC provides the following core services to Victorian families:
- Residential services – 24-hour multi-day centre-based intensive early parenting programs
- Day-stay service – centre-based day programs provided at EPCs or at outreach locations
- Telehealth and web-based services as a stand-alone or complementary modality.
The centre at Casey comprises of 4 day stay beds along with 10 overnight beds and is supported by a wide multidisciplinary team striving for positive outcomes for Victorian families.

* Be supported with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of Maternal and child health nurses, Midwives, Registered nurses, Child life therapist and Social work.
A day in the Life
Bring your passion for providing support to families and join us at the Early Parenting Centre in Casey. This role will see you working closely with our nursing and allied health team to support parents and provide them with the skills to reach their parenting goals in both residential and day stay services at our centre. You will be working with a culturally diverse population, in the Casey growth corridor, and will play an integral role in the service.
About You
- Experienced in paediatrics, special care nursery, midwifery/ postnatal or perinatal in infant mental health
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and prioritise own work whilst also working as an effective team member
- Excellent time and organisation management and problem-solving skills
- Works under limited supervision, either individually or in a team
- Possesses sound communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentially in working with private and sensitive information relating to children, families, visitors and staff
You understand the importance of family centred care in the community setting. With a naturally engaging manner, you can build trusting relationships with families and the nursing team to confidently undertake the tasks required to support the service. Training and support will be provided to ensure you are up to date with best practice, so a willingness to learn will see you succeed in the role.
