About the role:

 

This Full Time/Part Time ongoing senior Nursing position with Casey ACIS (CATT) Cranbourne is open to Registered Nurses with a working history in Mental Health.

 

As a clinical role, this position will draw on your knowledge in mental health legislation and policy. This will include intake, mental state, and risk assessment of clients presenting with acute symptoms of mental illness requiring acute/crisis care/management. Client contact may occur at the clients own home, via teleconference or in the clinic as required. This position will work a roster over seven days per week, AM and PM shifts, in accord with core service demands.

This position requires an individual with skills that will enable them to liaise closely with a number of Inpatient and community agencies to ensure best-practice care is provided. This will ensure a comprehensive assessment, collaborative treatment design and appropriate referral of consumers presenting to the team.

About You:

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Required to hold a post graduate diploma in psychiatric/mental health nursing or to have completed a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or a specialist post basic course of training which led to registration as a Division 3 Nurse

OR

  • Registered Nurse who has obtained a sole qualification in Mental Health Nursing (has a completed a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or Bachelor of Mental Health Nursing)

OR

  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing qualification and holds an academic post graduate qualification in mental nursing qualification (minimum diploma level)
  • At least 5 years post qualification relevant mental health experience demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills Experience and postgraduate qualification to qualify for working with people with a Dual disability – Mental Health and Intellectual Disability.
  • Current and satisfactory pre or ongoing employment screening, including but not limited to National Police Check, employee Working with Children Check (WWC) Aged Care Worker Screening, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Australian working rights
