We are excited to be recruiting a Grade 1 Social Worker to join our Adult Acute Social Work team at Casey Hospital on an ongoing full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your Social Work career within a supportive acute hospital environment, with access to regular clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development.
Working alongside experienced Social Workers and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide psychosocial assessment, intervention and advocacy to adult patients and their families. You will support people through unexpected illness and significant life changes, contribute to discharge planning and help patients and families navigate health, community and support services.
Whether you are beginning your career in health Social Work or looking to develop your experience within an acute setting, you will be supported to strengthen your clinical skills, confidence and professional practice.
About Us
Social Workers at Monash Health are integral members of the healthcare team, providing psychosocial support and advocacy through assessment, counselling, information provision, connection with community resources and discharge planning.
At Casey Hospital, you will join an experienced and supportive Social Work team and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to provide high-quality, person-centred care.
About You
You are a compassionate and motivated Social Worker who is keen to develop your skills within an acute healthcare environment. You enjoy working collaboratively, are open to learning and feedback, and are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care.
You will bring:
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Developing psychosocial assessment, counselling and intervention skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Good organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- An understanding of relevant health, community and social support systems
- A commitment to learning, reflective practice and evidence-informed care
Experience within a healthcare setting is welcomed but not essential.
