Nestled within the leafy grounds of Kingston Centre in Cheltenham, Boollam Boollam Aged Care Centre offers a state-of-the-art, purpose-built residential facility dedicated to comfort, dignity, and excellence in aged care. With 150 beds across four thoughtfully designed floors, our modern infrastructure supports a warm, home-like environment—tailored to meet the unique needs of every resident.
About the role:
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead food service operations based at Boollam Boollam. This full time, ongoing role, working Monday to Friday, provides a highly rewarding leadership opportunity where you’ll manage a committed team to deliver exceptional service and care to residents in a culturally safe, inclusive, and modern environment.
As a key member of our Support Services team, your leadership will play a vital role in shaping the experience for our residents.
In addition you will also:
- Lead a team of trade cooks and food services assistants in providing good quality meals to the residents.
- Compliance to relevant standards
- Achievement of accreditation for areas of responsibility
- Achievement of service key performance indicators
- Delivery of high-quality customer focused services
- Manage site wide catering
About us:
Support Services at Monash Health delivers a wide range of non-clinical services including food services, patient support, portering, cleaning, linen services, pest control, waste management, central production kitchen operations, hygiene services, car parking, and retail services.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Experience as Chef or Chef Manager with trade qualifications in commercial cookery
- Previous leadership experience supervising /managing a team (Essential)
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service and catering in a healthcare environment
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- The ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment
- A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- The ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including staff, volunteers, and customers
- Ability to understand, follow and implement written instructions and company procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
