About the Role
Food Services Assistant is responsible for duties assigned in the preparation, regeneration, plating, delivery and collection of meals throughout the day. Also includes the washing and sanitising of items in kitchen areas and equipment.

Dish washing and delivering Burlodge trolleys

Cleaning patient trays
-
Accurately assemble tray supplies and food on tray line

Regeneration of meals for patients, residents and functions as required

Prepare the patient menu items in accordance with meal production requirements

Clean Kitchen and equipment
-
Deliver, distribute and collect all patient/ residents food requirements and meal tray according to specific clinical requirements

Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
-
Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner
Positions Available:
- Position 1: Food Service Assistant, Kingston Plating Room
- Part Time - 40 hours per fortnight
- Monday to Sunday
- 08:30 – 16:30
- Position 2: Food Service Assistant, Kingston Plating Room
- Part Time - 40 hours per fortnight
- Monday to Sunday
- 08:30 – 16:30
- Position 3: Food Service Assistant, Kingston Ward Food Services
- Part Time - 25 hours per fortnight
- Friday 14:00 – 19:30
- Sunday 07:30 – 15:00
About Us
The Food Services team at Kingston Centre requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to prepare and provide meals to our wards striving to consistently deliver high quality and efficient services to our patients.
About You:

Excellent verbal & written communication skills
-
Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.

A proactive approach and team player
-
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.

A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
Mandatory requirements of this role:
-
Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE0001) – Use hygienic practices for food safety (Required)
-
Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances (Desireable)
-
Established knowledge of Monash Health processes and procedures
-
Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
-
Basic to intermediate computer skills
