The Movement Disorders Program at Monash Health is a world class service for people with Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. The program is an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence by the Parkinson’s Foundation in America. The Movement Disorders Clinic is an innovative multidisciplinary team who will welcome your fresh ideas and approaches. You will work with one of the largest movement disorders teams in Victoria and have opportunities to work with and learn from a variety of health professionals including neurologists, geriatricians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, social worker, dietician and clinical nurse consultant in a supportive environment. As a member of the Specialist Clinics and broader Monash Health Neuropsychology teams, we are committed to working with you to become your professional best. We offer clinical education sessions, training on the job and career progression to enable you to further develop your clinical and leadership skills. A Day in the Life
We are looking for a talented grade 3 psychologist (clinical neuropsychology) to join our supportive and friendly team at the Kingston Centre. This role is the ideal opportunity for an established Grade 3 Neuropsychologist with experience in the area of Parkinson’s disease, however experienced Grade 2 psychologists are still invited to apply and will be fully supported and considered. You will be part of the supportive psychology network committed to excellence in patient care, with access to all the benefits that offers; professional development, broad and specialised clinical experience as well as the opportunity to get involved in training and education. You will be well supported by the senior clinical and management teams as well as the experienced multidisciplinary team, whilst offering autonomy and flexibility in your work.
About You
In this position you will bring:

Enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn within the structured outpatient diagnostic setting
-
Passion for providing care for those with suspected neurodegenerative disease and those with movement disorders
-
Collaborative, and flexible thinking towards hypothesis testing, and provide empathic and patient-centred care in your assessments, feedback and recommendations
-
Your effective written and verbal communication to a multi-disciplinary audience
-
Your strive toward attention to detail and time-management, in addition to openness to learning and response to feedback

Willingness to work closely with a supportive psychology senior

Current and general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA)

Completion of an appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in clinical neuropsychology in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course

Previous clinical work experience with movement disorders neurology (desirable)
