About the Role
Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant on a part time ongoing basis to work at the Kingston Centre, Chestnut Gardens or Yarraman. We have several roles on offer, Please indicte the roles you wish to apply for in order of preference in your application. In these roles, you will be rostered to work the following shifts each week subject to the position(s) selected below.
Position 1: Biala (Kingston Site) - PSA -30 hrs per fortnight
Week 1:
Friday - 0700 - 1500 - 7.5hrs
Saturday - 1030 - 1830 - 7.5hrs
Week 2:
Friday - 0700 - 1500 - 7.5hrs
Saturday - 1030 - 1830 - 7.5hrs
Position 2: Allambee (Kingston Site) - PSA - 28 hrs per fortnight
Week 1: NIL
Week 2:
Mon - 0700 - 1430 - 7hrs
Tues - 0700 - 1430 - 7hrs
Fri - 1100 - 1830 - 7hrs
Sun - 1100 - 1830 - 7hrs
Position 3 : Chestnut Gardens (Doveton) - PSA - 62 hrs per fortnight
Week 1
Monday - 0730 - 1500 - 7hrs
Tuesday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Wednesday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Sunday - 0730 - 1600 - 8hrs
Week 2
Monday - 0730 - 1500 - 7hrs
Tuesday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Wednesday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Sunday - 0730 - 1600 - 8hrs
Position 4: Yarraman (Noble Park) - PSA - 38 hrs per fortnight
Week 1
Tuesday - 0730 - 1500 - 7hrs
Saturday- 1130 - 1530 - 1530 - 4hrs
Sunday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Week 2
Tuesday - 0730 - 1500 - 7hrs
Saturday- 1130 - 1530 - 1530 - 4hrs
Sunday - 0700 - 1530 - 8hrs
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ward and department cleaning
- Patient transfers
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Ward errands
- Manage the picking of meals in a timely manner, following standard recipes
- Manage the cleaning of kitchen and equipment
- Deliver, distribute and collect all smartpak meal requirements
- Ensure all Department of Health Food Service standards are achieved.
- Report and maintain a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Completion of food safety documentation in a timely manner
About Us
Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Current Food Safety qualification (essential)
- Relevant food services certificate (minimum HLTFSE001 - Follow basic food safety practices) (essential)
- Qualification in HACCP procedures and quality management systems (essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills for our digital learning system
