About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate person, willing to put the comfort of patients first as you carry out your cleaning requirements. At times you will find yourself reassuring patients, or just engaging in conversation so that they have the most positive experience possible. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Patient Services Assistant, who prefers a job where they are active and on the move with a strong focus on customer service during meal service and patient transfer between wards or activities. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Ward cleaning
• Patient discharge assistance
• Transfer & cleaning of equipment
• Patient transfers with use of equipment; bed movers, wheelchairs and potential bus transport.
• Assisting nursing staff as requested
The General Services department requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant to join the team at Kingston Centre (Cheltenham). We are recruiting for: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10.30am – 6.00pm (42 Hours per fortnight)
About Us:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
• A proactive approach and a team player
• Take pride in your work with great attention to detail
• Flexibility to change shifts, take on additional shifts or cover staff leave at short notice
Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships,
• Certificate III Health Services Assistant
• Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
• Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
• Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
• Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
• Basic to intermediate digital literacy
