About the Role:
Join our team as a Physiotherapist Grade 2 – Movement Disorders on a part-time, fixed-term (0.63 EFT / 48 hours per fortnight) basis until December 2025, based at the Kingston Centre.
In this role you will join a highly functioning multidisciplinary service that provides high quality evidenced based care to one of Melbourne's fastest growing regions.
In this role you will work with one of the largest specialist movement disorders teams in Victoria, collaborating and learning from a variety of health professionals including neurologists, geriatricians, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, neuropsychologists, nurses and dieticians, in a supportive and friendly environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for the successful clinician to gain specialised clinical experience in the area of Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. You will provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to improve the quality of life and optimise the independence of your clients. You will see clients in a variety of settings including in the outpatient clinic, in their home and/or by telehealth. You will also assist with running our popular online and in person exercise group programs with support from allied health assistants.
You will receive regular clinical supervision and support by our highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist and have the opportunity to participate in regular professional development opportunities.
While our preference of working days is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on-site, there is some flexibility with this.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide a high standard of client assessment, treatment and coordination of services to patients with a movement disorder, to facilitate safe, effective, and person-centred care in outpatient settings
- Providing specialist clinical advice to other physiotherapists and multidciplinary colleagues
- Facilitate regular physiotherapy exercise group(s) for people with Parkinson's
- Deliver clinical education and supervision for Grade 1 Physiotherapist(s) and students

About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Enthusiasm for working in a specialised multidisciplinary team
- Ability to supervise junior staff and students and contribute to peer-based learning
- Experience in quality and research initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to best practice care
- Ambition to extend your clinical skills and expand your knowledge in the clinical area of Parkinson’s and related conditions
- Your strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in public health community base physiotherapy desirable
Mandatory requirements of the role:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant post graduate qualifications (or progression towards this)
- Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, including involvement in relevant Special Interest Group/s
