About The Role 

Join our team as a full-time Health and Safety Advisor, supporting multiple sites across the southeastern suburbs. In this ongoing role, you will be instrumental in enhancing organizational capability and fostering a culture of positive change. This is a Hybrid role working one day per week from home, 1 day per week from Scoresby and based at the Kingston & Moorabbin sites. As part of your role as Health & Safety Advisor you will: 

  • Support the implementation of the Monash Health Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). 

  • Enhance organizational capability by preventing and managing workplace injuries, promoting staff well-being, ensuring legislative compliance, and optimizing productivity and quality care within a safe work environment. 

  • Provide health and safety coaching, advisory services, and collaborative support to stakeholders, fostering risk management skills and promoting a positive safety culture. 

  • Empower managers to implement effective and sustainable health and safety practices within their areas of responsibility and accountability. 

  • Advocate for and facilitate the integration of Monash Health’s Injury Support program. 

  • Minimize the human and financial impact of workplace injuries while improving employee health and well-being. 

  • Travel between various Monash Health sites as required.

About You 

Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will collaborate with a diverse team. You are a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professional with proven industry experience. With a strong passion for workplace safety, you excel in communicating effectively and influencing positive change. You lead by example, thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments, and are committed to delivering the highest standards of safety and well-being across the organization. To succeed in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge: 

  • Proven experience in an OHS role with a strong foundation in workplace health and safety practices. 

  • Strong ability to interpret and apply Victorian Workplace Health and Safety legislation, providing sound advice and guidance. 

  • Proven internal consulting experience that has enhanced line managers' knowledge, skills, and confidence in implementing organizational safety improvements. 

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with leaders and employees at both strategic and operational levels, with a track record of negotiating successful outcomes. 

  • Excellent project management skills, including the capacity to oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • High-level conceptual and analytical skills, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making expertise, supported by well-developed reporting capabilities. 

  • Experience leading and managing change initiatives across multiple sites and disciplines. 

  • Proficiency in digital tools and well-developed computer literacy. 

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or a related field. 

  • Incident Investigation training (preferred). 

  • A current and valid driver’s license.
