About The Role

The Safety Training and Development Specialist will design and implement strategies and educational programs to enhance employee engagement and knowledge in health and safety, strengthen leadership capabilities, and support ongoing learning. Collaborating closely with departments such as People and Engagement, Operations, and Learning and Development, they will identify areas for improvement in education and engagement, developing targeted programs to address these needs. This is a Full Time position working a hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office.

 

In addition to this, some of the key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain an up-to-date Training Needs Analysis, assessing work environments, roles, and employee skills.
  • Design and deliver engaging, innovative training programs, including leadership development and coaching, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
  • Develop or adapt OHS training to meet Monash Health’s specific requirements.
  • Analyse safety data to identify trends, recommend preventive measures, and drive improvements.
  • Assess training effectiveness regularly, refining programs based on feedback.
  • Stay informed on safety regulations and industry best practices, sharing insights across the organization.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication and engagement initiatives.

About You
You are a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professional with a proven track record in the industry. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will work closely with a diverse team. Passionate about workplace safety, you excel at fostering a culture of safety through effective communication and positive influence. Leading by example, you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and are committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and well-being across the organization.

 

 

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to develop and implement education, safety culture, and employee engagement programs.
  • Strong training, presentation, and communication skills, with experience in producing quality reports and proposals.
  • Skilled in relationship building, collaboration, and influencing positive change.
  • Analytical mindset with expertise in safety data analysis and trend identification.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; graphic design and videography skills are a plus.
  • Experience in organizational change is highly regarded.

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Certificate 4 Training and Assessment
  • Current driver’s license
