About Monash Children’s Hospital

Monash Children’s Hospital at Monash Health is a fully integrated primary, secondary and tertiary health service to approximately a third of the state’s children. It also plays a central role in the delivery of many state wide tertiary services. It is the third largest provider of paediatric medical services in Australia. The purpose built Monash Children’s Hospital at Clayton allows clinical services to be delivered in a child and family-friendly environment, and increases bed numbers and services for children and families of south east Melbourne and Victoria. Our children’s wards care for children with a wide range of acute and chronic medical and surgical illnesses. Monash Newborn provides care for premature babies and is the largest of the four neonatal intensive care facilities in Victoria. Monash Children’s has three campuses with all tertiary care provided at Clayton and secondary care at Dandenong and Casey Hospitals. The full range of medical and surgical subspecialty care is available at Clayton with emergency departments, general paediatrics and special care nurseries at all campuses. Two Parental Leave position available:

Semester 1 – 03/02/2025 – 03/08/2025 

We are seeking a highly motivated trainee to join our team to cover the General Paediatric HITH ATR position as Maternity cover commencing 3 February 2025 for 6 months. This position provides fantastic experience in holistic patient management and transition from inpatient to community services as well as multidisciplinary team patient management.  It is accredited for non core General Paediatric time by the RACP.  The position is Monday - Friday without after hours commitments.  See attached position description for details. 

 

Semester 2 – 04/08/2025 – 01/02/2026 

Applications are welcomed for the full-time position of General Paediatric ATR (inpatient and clinics) for 6 months from August 2025. 

This position is accredited for advanced training with RACP (core general paediatrics without perinatal component).  The successful candidate will provide support to the Gen Paed A & B JMS, see referrals from other units and take on a portfolio within the Paediatric ATR group at Monash Childrens Hospital.  In clinic, you will have the opportunity to develop your consulting style, see a range of longer-term complex patients and further develop your communication skills.  This role is based at MCH Clayton and participates in the weekend and after hours on call roster. This role would work well combined with the Monash Childrens @ Home ATR position being advertised for the first 6 months of 2025 which is accredited for non-core advanced training with RACP.

About You 

Mandatory requirements of the role:   

  • Advanced trainee of RACP or equivalent   

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)   

  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications   

  • Working with Children's Certificate
