About Colorectal Surgery Unit
The Colorectal Surgery unit is based in Dandenong Hospital in Melbourne’s southeast. It is one of the busiest colorectal units in Australia achieving more than 450 major resections a year. It is staffed by 10 colorectal surgeons, 2 fellows, 3 registrars, 2 HMOs and 5 interns. The unit is recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for General Surgery registrar training (SET program) as well as by the Training Board in Colorectal Surgery (TBCRS) of the Colorectal Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) for post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery.
About the Role
We are looking for a positive, committed and inspiring research fellow to join our team to provide the best in patient care as well as foster research endeavours in the Colorectal Unit. The successful candidate is given the opportunity to develop and refine their clinical skills as well as further their research interests in collaboration with the research team. The role is remunerated at 0.5EFT. Additional income can be supplemented by private assisting and research grants obtained for specific projects.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring appropriate skills, experience and knowledge as evidenced by completion of General Surgical training with tertiary qualifications of FRACS or equivalent. You will need to registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice in Australia. You must also possess a valid Working with Children's Certificate and Current and satisfactory Police Check.
