About General Medicine

Advanced trainees in Core General Medicine rotations will work alongside senior staff and multidisciplinary teams to provide acute and ongoing clinical care. This is supported by both full-time staff specialists and VMOs.
  • At Dandenong Hospital General Medicine admits a very diverse range of patients including a high volume of subspecialty presentations supported by full time and fractional consultants in a collaborative inter-professional model of care.
  • At Casey Hospital the General Medicine Unit provides acute general medical care in a high growth corridor and is supported by fractional consultants with a range of subspecialty expertise.

Specialty rotations are available in haematology, palliative care, ICU,  renal, cardiology, geriatrics, as well as Perioperative Medicine and may include regional (Alice Springs and West Gippsland) and private (Epworth Richmond) opportunities.
