About the Role    

As a Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) in the General Stream, you’ll deliver high-quality care across Monash Health’s metropolitan and regional hospitals. You’ll rotate through a variety of medical and surgical units, gaining broad clinical experience while participating in after-hours, weekend, and on-call rosters.  

Working under the supervision of senior clinicians, you’ll contribute to patient care, clinical handovers, and multidisciplinary teamwork, with opportunities to support and teach junior staff.  

You must be prepared to meet the health service delivery needs, which will include undertaking rotation placements in both metropolitan and regional/rural hospitals, and participation in after-hours, weekend and on call rosters. Contract lengths will vary but can be negotiated for a duration of up to 2 years.      

Contracts are flexible, with options available for up to two years, offering stability and career development in a supportive environment.  

  

About You  

What you need:     

  • Primary Medical Degree - MBBS       

  • Previous experience and completion of Internship       

  • Current Drivers Licence     

  • Australian working rights  

  • Hold General, Limited or Provisional AHPRA Medical Registration       

  • Applicants must meet a minimum AHPRA Supervision Level of 2   

  • Victorian Employee Working with Children's Check
