Applications are now open to candidates anticipating initial registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife in 2026 to join the Monash Health in the following Graduate Programs and intakes:  

  • General Nursing - February & August Intakes 

  • Midwifery & Double Degree – February, May & August Intakes  

  • Paediatric & Neonatal Nursing - February only 

  • Mental Health Nursing – February, May & August Intakes 

  • Residential Aged Care & Subacute Nursing - February only 

  • Combined Mental Health & General Nursing - February only 

 

Intake Dates: 

  • February Intake: 2nd February 2026 – 7th February 2027 

  • May Intake: 4th May 2026 – 2nd May 2027 

  • August Intake: 3rd August 2026 – 1st August 2027 

Graduates complete a comprehensive paid orientation prior to these dates in the lead up to commencement. 

 

About You 

To be eligible for 2026 Graduate Program positions candidates must:  

  • Complete course requirements between 1 January 2025 and 30 June 2026 

  • Meet all the requirements to be registered as a RN and/or RM with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia before starting your proposed employment 

  • Participate in Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) APS match process   

  • Have never previously participated in a Graduate Program for Registered Nurses and or Midwives  *If you have completed an RN graduate program and are now studying for a Bachelor or PG in Midwifery, you can apply for the Match but only select Midwifery positions in your preferences. 

Nb: As per GNMP PMCV guidelines, 2024 candidates whose training completion date was delayed to 2025, may reapply.    

 

We accept applications from domestic applicants, New Zealand citizens and Australian Trained Temporary Residents with Australian working rights.

Double Degree Graduates also rotate to a nursing clinical area at a range of sites, enabling them to consolidate their nursing skills in acute areas   

  • Paid learning time in each rotation, including supernumerary shifts and graduate specific study days

About the Role 

The Monash Health Graduate Program takes pride in providing our Graduates with excellent opportunities to consolidate their skills, expand their experience as a beginning practitioner and grow their career.  

  • Monash Health offers the following Nursing Programs: General Nursing, Paediatric & Neonatal, Mental Health, Combined Nursing & Mental Health, and lastly the Residential Aged Care and Subacute. These programs include a 12-month structured program consisting of two 6-month rotations. 

  • Graduate Midwives complete a 12-month structured program, consisting of four (4) 3-month rotations: Two (2) birth suite rotations and two (2) post/antenatal rotations  

  • Double Degree Nursing/Midwifery Graduates complete a 12-month structured program, consisting of four (4) 3-month rotations: two (2) birth suite rotations, one (1) post/antenatal rotation and one (1) nursing rotation.

How to Apply

The Monash Health Graduate Program application process has been streamlined to support candidates to submit strong applications that give them the best chance of success. Candidates must complete the following steps:   

  1. Register with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) and apply for the GNMP Match. Your PMCV Candidate ID will be required for the application process. 

  1. Create an account/login on the Monash Health Careers Page.

    • Applications will be accepted via the Monash Health Careers Website only. Email applications will not be considered.   

    • Existing Monash Health Employees should apply as an internal applicant using their Monash Health employee account.  

  1. Prepare your application as per the 2026 Monash Health Graduate Program Application Guidelines (see the ‘Position Documents’ section below). To be considered, applications submitted to this job advertisement must include:  

    • Most recent Academic Transcript, including the grading key page  

    • Working with Children’s check card (Can be Volunteer or Employee for the purposes of application) 

 

Offer of Employment

Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory completion of the following probity checks prior to commencement:  

  • Submission of a valid ‘Employee’ Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)  

  • Completion of a Fit2Work police check conducted within three months of the contract commencement date  

  • Submission of proof of immunisation  

  • Confirmed registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife prior to the program clinical commencement date  

  • Working Rights in Australia Screening - evidence of a valid Visa allowing full working rights with no restrictions (if not an Australian citizen) prior to program clinical commencement date  

 

In compliance with PMCV GNMP Match Business rules, offers of employment for these positions will be made from Wednesday 17th September 2025 onwards GNMP PMCV Codes of Conduct
