Monash Health Imaging Cardiothoracic Fellow/SFR
Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners, registered in Australia, for the position of Monash Health Imaging Thoracic Fellow/Systems Focused Rotation position. The position would best suit a doctor who is wishing to extend the knowledge in basic science and advanced cross sectional cardiac and respiratory imaging. About Monash Health Imaging
Imaging at Monash Health incorporates a full range of services including CT, US, MRI, DEXA, PET, Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, Lithotripsy, OPG, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and Interventional and Therapeutic imaging services at the Monash Medical Centre - Clayton; Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton; Dandenong Hospital, Dandenong; Casey Hospital, Berwick; Moorabbin Hospital, Bentleigh East; Kingston Centre, Cheltenham and the Pakenham Health Centre, Pakenham. Imaging also supports the Monash University Biomedical Imaging site including MRI and PET MRI. The service provides over 365,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites, currently employs approximately 500 EFT and has a gross operating budget in excess of $100M.
The Imaging program clearly defines its mission as the delivery of leading edge, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services and research and education that meets the needs of our community and employees. Our proposed vision is to relentlessly pursue excellence and be a beacon within imaging and be the prime provider and destination of choice for our community, referrers, researchers, educational institutions, employees and students.
About the Role
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students and undertake training towards attaining Fellowship of the relevant college.
You will be required to undertake patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant and patient care coordination. Participation in the evening and weekend roster is expected.
This position will be predominantly based at the Victorian Heart Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, but may be rostered at all Monash Health campuses.
About You
You will:
- Demonstrate a commitment to profession-led regulation.
- Demonstrate a high level commitment to ethical practice.
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage matters of patient safety and quality of care.
- Understand the role of the relevant college and the associated expectations of the registrar/advanced trainee role.
- Commit to one research project during your appointment, with the guidance and support of both the Divisional Head and Deputy Divisional Head Body Division, Cardiothoracic Imaging.
What you need:
- A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Trainee of relevant medical college.
- Part II FRANZCR and at least 4 years of registrar training.
- Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
