Monash Health Imaging Interventional Radiology Fellow 2026

Applications for suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position of Interventional Radiology Fellow (Body) at Monash Health Imaging.

About the Department

Monash Health Imaging is the largest public provider of imaging, therapeutic and interventional services within Australia with over 600 staff across the network. We provide Interventional Radiology (IR) at 6 sites of the Monash Health network (Victorian Heart Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital and Casey Hospital).

The IR-division comprises a large group of senior and junior medical staff with 12 Consultant Interventional Radiologists, 2 Body IR Fellows, a Senior Radiology Registrar, an Unaccredited Registrar and an Intern.

We perform more than 3500 body angiography procedures as well as more than 4000 non-vascular image guided procedures per year, including paediatric IR and INR procedures. The division operates 4 dedicated angiography suites (one shared with INR and one shared with Vascular surgery), 3 fluoroscopy suites, 3 ultrasound procedure rooms, a dedicated interventional CT at our primary hospital site as well as access to CT guided procedures shared with diagnostic CT at two other hospital sites.

The department also performs more than 18000 diagnostic vascular imaging studies per year with a dedicated Vascular Imaging Lab, CT and MRI. Many of our Interventional Radiologists also have subspeciality diagnostic imaging interests and report a wide variety of non-vascular diagnostic studies.

We also run weekly department Morbidity and Mortality meetings, the Vascular/Endovascular multidisciplinary team meeting, Hepatoma/Liver Mass MDT and a monthly Vascular Malformations MDT.

We also have a weekly public outpatient clinic which provides pre-operative assessment and post-operative review for our patients. A dedicated IR bed card is in its final stage of implementation.

Our division also provides a comprehensive education program for fellows (targeted at those sitting the EBIR examination) and is a pilot site for the new RANZCR Interventional Radiology training program.
