Monash Health Imaging Women’s Imaging Fellow  

Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners, registered in Australia, for the position of Monash Health Imaging Women’s Imaging Fellow. The position would best suit a Radiologist/Radiology Trainee who would like to develop subspecialty expertise in Women’s Imaging within a multi-disciplinary setting. Our professional team fosters an innovative, respectful and positive team-based culture. About Monash Health Imaging 

Imaging at Monash Health incorporates a full range of services including CT, US, MRI, DEXA, PET, Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, Lithotripsy, OPG, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and Interventional and Therapeutic imaging services at the Monash Medical Centre - Clayton; Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton; Dandenong Hospital, Dandenong; Casey Hospital, Berwick; Moorabbin Hospital, Bentleigh East; Kingston Centre, Cheltenham and the Pakenham Health Centre, Pakenham. Imaging also supports the Monash University Biomedical Imaging site including MRI and PET MRI. The service provides over 365,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites, currently employs approximately 500 EFT and has a gross operating budget in excess of $100M.

About the Role 

As a member of the Women’s Imaging team at Monash, the appointed fellow will operate within a closely collaborative environment, alongside Monash health’s COGU and FDU specialists and subspecialised sonographers and medical imaging technologists, with further close interaction with BreastScreen Victoria and the relevant specialist surgical units.  The successful applicant will also form an integral part of the newly established Monash Fertility Unit imaging team.  

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person-centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students and undertake training towards attaining Fellowship of the relevant college.  

You will be required to undertake patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant and patient care coordination. Participation in the evening roster is expected. 

This position is based across all Monash Health campuses. 
 
About You 

You will: 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to profession-led regulation. 
  • Demonstrate a high level commitment to ethical practice. 
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage matters of patient safety and quality of care. 
  • Understand the role of the relevant college and the associated expectations of the registrar role. 

What you need (italics indicates desirable): 

  • A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, (AHPRA). 
  • Trainee of relevant medical college. 
  • Part II FRANZCR and 5 years of registrar training, or equivalent. 
  • Motor vehicle driver licence. 
  • Victorian Employee Working with Children Check. 
  • Radiation Use Licence (for Fellows only). 
  • Demonstrated research experience. 

 

12 month applications preferred but 6 month applications will be considered.
