About the Role
Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners for the position of Monash Health Imaging NeuroInteventional Radiology Fellow position. The position would best suit a doctor who is wishing to learn and grow in an academic NeuroInterventional Radiology (NeuroIR) service. We provide clinical and radiological expertise in advanced neurovascular imaging and neurointerventional treatments 24-hours a day, 7-days a week for both adult and paediatric patients presenting to Monash Health for the assessment and management of ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke, brain aneurysms and neurovascular disorders. We work as a team of 4 NeuroInterventional Radiologists, dual trained Cerebrovascular Neurosurgeons, 2 NeuroIR fellows and 1 NeuroInterventional Clinical Nurse Consultant.
The NeuroIR service is based at Monash Medical Centre and works in collaboration with Neurosurgery, Neurology and other clinical services across Monash Health. Monash Medical Centre is one of two designated state-wide Endovascular Clot Retrieval Centres for Victoria and plays a pivotal role in the assessment and management of acute stroke patients in Victoria. About Monash Health Imaging
Imaging at Monash Health incorporates a full range of services including CT, US, MRI, DEXA, PET, Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray, Lithotripsy, OPG, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and Interventional and Therapeutic imaging services at the Monash Medical Centre - Clayton; Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton; Dandenong Hospital, Dandenong; Casey Hospital, Berwick; Moorabbin Hospital, Bentleigh East; Kingston Centre, Cheltenham and the Pakenham Health Centre, Pakenham. Imaging also supports the Monash University Biomedical Imaging site including MRI and PET MRI. The service provides over 370,000 imaging examinations per year across all sites, currently employs approximately 500 EFT and has a gross operating budget more than $100M.
The Imaging program clearly defines its mission as the delivery of leading edge, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services and research and education that meets the needs of our community and employees. Our proposed vision is to relentlessly pursue excellence and be a beacon within imaging and be the prime provider and destination of choice for our community, referrers, researchers, educational institutions, employees and students.
About the Role
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person-centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students and undertake training towards attaining Fellowship of the relevant college.
You will be required to undertake patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant and patient care coordination. Participation in the NeuroIR on call roster is required. This position is based at Monash Medical Centre.
About You
You will:

- Understand the role of the relevant college and the associated expectations of the fellow/registrar role.
What you need:
- A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or have PR or be eligible to work in Australia.
- Completion of relevant postgraduate specialty training in radiology, neurology or neurosurgery.
- Motor vehicle driver licence.
- Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
- Radiation Use Licence.
