About the General Medicine Service 

The General Medicine Service at Monash Health includes responsibility for Acute and General Medicine patients across the three acute care campuses at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. General Medicine is the largest single medical inpatient service at Monash Health with over 22,000 admissions per annum across the three sites.  

General Medicine is an important training area for medical undergraduates, resident medical officers and Basic Physician Trainees. It actively fosters the development of the skills of evidence-based medicine and quality assurance in its trainees and has an active clinical teaching program for its registrars and interns.  

  

About the Role  

This role provides a significant opportunity for General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Trainees, with recent or near attainment of their FRACP qualification, to further their non-clinical and professional development. Opportunities encompass participation in research and quality improvement activities, along with educational and minor clinical activities. There is opportunity to participate in senior medical staff and other meetings to develop understanding of wider governance, quality and safety, operational and educational priorities within the unit.   

  

About You  

We are looking for a positive and inspiring clinician with a passion for quality improvement and research with a commitment to clinical excellence to join our passionate General Medicine team. The successful applicant will demonstrate a growth mindset and innovative thinking as well as the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others.   

What you need:  

  • A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)  

  • Successful completion of the FRACP clinical exam  

  • Trainee of relevant Medical college  

  • Motor vehicle driver licence
