About Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
The Plastic and Reconstructive surgical unit is headed by Mr Michael Lo and provides a wide range of adult and paediatric cases. It is the busiest plastic surgery service in the state with approximately 6500 cases annually and is one of the busiest plastic surgery services in Australia. The majority of major reconstructive and acute work occurs at Dandenong Hospital with a dedicated plastic surgery ward on North 1. Other sites where plastic surgery care is delivered include Casey Hospital, Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Moorabbin Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.
The unit provides a full range of plastic surgery services including skin cancer, surgical oncology, major reconstructive surgery, trauma service, elective and emergency hand surgery, maxillofacial trauma and paediatric surgery.
About the Role
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident Medical staff and students. You will be accountable to your Unit Head/Consultant for the care of all patients in the unit. You will be required to undertake:

Patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant.

Extensive interaction with the other health professionals, especially nursing and allied health staff

Self – management (including time management, assessing education and training and completing college requirements).

Provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary treating team.

Provide safe and High Quality person centred care for patients under your care.

Ensure coordination of care for patients in your unit

Ensure timely and clear clinical communication including clinical handover with regards to patients under your care

Ensure timely escalation of care related issues to your consultant when required

In your clinical practice demonstrate commitment to quality and safety and Monash Health’s “patient first” initiative
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Current general registration with AHPRA
-
Employee working with children's check
-
Primary medical degree
-
FRACS or equivalent in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Mandatory requirements of the role:

Current Drivers Licence
-
All candidates will require Australian working rights.
