About Monash Doctors

About the Role
Monash Health has a large support team for training including the Director of Training, three hospital Site Training Coordinators, and an Examination coordinator. We also have staff Psychotherapy Psychiatrists helping registrars with their Psychotherapy cases.
We provide seven Advanced Training Certificate programs in Generalist, Adult , Consultation-Liaison, Aged, Child and Adolescent, Psychotherapy and Addiction Psychiatry. Forensic placements can also be organised.
Applications are invited from Medical Practitioners, with experience working in psychiatry, who already have full general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
We have 18 positions available in 2026 for entry into our RANZCP accredited special training scheme, which is closely affiliated with Monash University. Monash Health provides quality supervision, excellent training and structured educational programs and opportunities through all stages of specialist training. About You
You are a dedicated and compassionate medical professional with a strong foundation in clinical medicine and a passion for psychiatry. With excellent diagnostic, communication, and teamwork skills, you excel in building rapport with patients and working effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Your commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice drives your desire to improve patient outcomes in mental health care. Eager to contribute to research and quality improvement, you are excited to start your career as a Psychiatry Registrar while making a positive impact on those with mental health conditions.
What you need
Applicants must have achieved full general AHPRA registration before commencement or they will not be approved by the RANZCP for training in 2026.
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
Working with Children's Certificate
Access to professional development courses and seminars
