About the Unit
VHH is the largest cardiology service provider in Victoria with 270 staff across our three sites, providing over 65,000 episodes of cardiological care to the community annually. We provide cardiology healthcare services to patients of all ages, from in-utero and newborns right through to our senior citizens. Our mission is to improve community wellbeing through outstanding cardiology healthcare services and to provide exceptional quality education for our future healthcare professionals
About the Role
This training program will equip fellows in the art and science of advanced heart failure. Our program is particularly geared to those looking to manage patients in a tertiary level environment. We have one of the largest outpatient clinics in the state, and fellows will leave with the skills to manage all aspects of heart failure care - from new diagnosis/assessment to evaluation for surgical advanced therapies (transplant and LVAD) and transition to palliative care. Fellows will also gain unique skills in the management of cardiogenic shock (including temporary mechanical support devices), inflammatory cardiomyopathies/myocarditis, cardio-oncology. Academic research is an integral component of our interventional program. All fellows are expected to actively undertake research projects and to present at local meetings and international meetings.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications

Working with Children's Certificate
Outline skills / experience / attitude:

Prior completion of at least three years advanced cardiology training in cardiology at a recognised tertiary centre

A willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Mandatory requirements of the role:
