About the Department of Anaesthesia  

Our department is a culturally diverse, family friendly group focussed on delivering quality anaesthesia to the community. We have an 
increasing interest in participating in clinical research 
and offer several exciting opportunities, with exposure to both elective and emergency case load. 

 

About the Role 

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Anaesthesia 
The successful candidate will operate in a team-based environment and is expected to exhibit excellent communication skills. 
The successful candidate should be aligned with the broader goals of advancing the interests of the department. As Fellow of the Unit you will have a significant responsibility and a complex role.   

Fellows are located at the following Monash Health sites, MMC: Clayton/Moorabbin; MCH, Dandenong/CICC, VHH & Casey 

 

You will be required to : 

  • Undertake patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant 

  • Provide patient care coordination 

  • Offer intern/HMO support, supervision, feedback and teaching 

  • Facilitate student interaction and teaching 

  • Act as a family member liaison, providing communication and feedback 

  • Engage in extensive interaction with the other health professionals, especially, the nursing and allied health staff 

  • Demonstrate self-management skills (including time management, accessing education and training and completing college requirements) 

  • Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary treating team 

  • Demonstrate commitment towards key organisational initiatives 

  • Demonstrate compliance with all relevant Monash Health Policies and Procedures 

 

About You 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)  

  • Successful completion of the Second Part Examination in anaesthesia with ANZCA 

  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications  

  • A working with Children's Certificate  

  • The ability to operate in a team-based environment and exhibitgood communication skills.  

  • A current Drivers Licence  

  • Australian working rights.
