Applications are now open to candidates anticipating initial registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife in 2027 to join Monash Health in the following Graduate Programs:  

  • General Nursing - February & August intakes

  • Midwifery & Double Degree - February, May & August intakes  

  • Paediatric & Neonatal Nursing - February only 

  • Mental Health Nursing - February, May & August intakes 

  • Residential Aged Care & Subacute Nursing - February only  

 

Intake Dates: 

  • February Intake: 1 February 2027 

  • May Intake: 3 May 2027 

  • August Intake: 2 August 2027  

 

About You

To be eligible for 2027 Graduate Programs, candidates must:  

  • Complete training between 1 January 2026 and 30 June 2027  

  • Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife  

  • Have the right to work in Australia without requiring sponsorship  

  • Have trained in Australia or New Zealand  

  • Be applying for your first graduate program 

If you have completed a nursing graduate program and are now studying midwifery, you may apply but must only preference midwifery positions.

About the Role

The Monash Health Graduate Program offers excellent opportunities for graduates to consolidate their skills, broaden their clinical experience, and develop their careers in healthcare. 

Graduates undertake a structured 12-month program, including: 

  • Nursing: Two 6-month rotations 

  • Midwifery: Four 3-month rotations, including two birth suite and two antenatal/postnatal rotations 

  • Double Degree Nursing & Midwifery: Four 3-month rotations, including two birth suite rotations, one antenatal/postnatal rotation, and one nursing rotation

  1. Register with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) and apply for the GNMP Match. Your PMCV Candidate ID will be required for the application process. 

  1. Login with your Monash Health eHub credentials on the Monash Health Careers Page 

    • Applications will be accepted via the Monash Health Careers Website only. Email applications will not be considered.   

    • Existing Monash Health Employees should apply as an internal applicant using their Monash Health employee account.  

  1. Prepare your application as per the 2027 Graduate Program Application Guidelines. To be considered, applications submitted to this job advertisement must include: 

    • Most recent  Academic Transcript, including the grading key page.  

    • Working with Children Check (can be Volunteer or Employee for the purposes of application). 

 

Offers of Employment:

Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory completion of the following probity checks prior to commencement:  

    • Submission of a valid  ‘Employee’  Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)  

    • Completion of a Fit2Work police check conducted within three months of the contract commencement date  

    • Submission of proof of immunisation  

    • Confirmed registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife prior to the program clinical commencement date  

    • Evidence of a valid Visa allowing full working rights with no restrictions (if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident) prior to program clinical commencement date
