Monash Health Imaging Paediatric Fellow/SFR  

Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners, registered in Australia, for the position of Monash Health Imaging Paediatric Fellow/Systems Focused Rotation position. The position would best suit a doctor who is wishing to extend the knowledge in basic science and practice of paediatric imaging and gain experience at this level.

About Paediatric Services at Monash Health  

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of the largest paediatric services in Australia. It provides comprehensive paediatric clinical care to the children of Melbourne and Victoria with all subspecialty services. These include neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, oncology, rheumatology, nephrology and urology. There are many opportunities for research and teaching.  

The new dedicated paediatric imaging facility is comprehensive with all modalities and is a great opportunity for a fellow to obtain a broad experience of paediatric imaging.  

  

About the Role  

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person‐centred care, provide teaching and supervision of resident medical staff and students.  To extend the knowledge in the basic science and practice of Paediatric Imaging through a wide range of clinical presentations and imaging studies, and through direct teaching and supervision.     

You will be required to undertake patient assessment and management in consultation with the treating consultant and patient care coordination. Participation in the on call roster is expected.  

This position is based across all Monash Health campuses.   

 

About You  

You will:  

  • Demonstrate a commitment to profession-led regulation.  

  • Demonstrate a high level commitment to ethical practice.  

  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage matters of patient safety and quality of care.  

  • Understand the role of the relevant college and the associated expectations of the fellow/SFR trainee role.  

  

What you need:  

  • A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.  

  • Trainee of relevant medical college.  

  • Motor vehicle driver licence.  

  • Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
