Paediatric Emergency Department
If you enjoy working in a supportive, dynamic, evolving environment, with a wide diversity of patients then Monash Children’s Hospital Paediatric Emergency Department is the place for you.
Monash Children’s Hospital at Monash Health is a fully integrated primary, secondary and tertiary health service to a third of the state’s children. It also plays a vital role in the delivery of many state-wide tertiary services. It is the third largest provider of paediatric medical services in Australia.
The new purpose-built Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) opened in mid-2017. This allows clinical services to be delivered in a child and family-friendly environment and increases bed numbers and services for children and families of southeast Melbourne and Victoria. MCH’s new paediatric emergency department was completed in early 2022. Providing tertiary paediatric emergency care, the ED sees over 45000 attendances each year. It is adjacent to but completely separate from the adult emergency department. We are the paediatric tertiary referral centre for south-eastern Victoria.
