About Urology   

Monash Urology is the largest and busiest urology unit in Australia, providing emergency and planned services across: 

  • Casey Hospital (Berwick)  

  • Moorabbin Hospital.  

   

Our Team:  

  • 15 Consultants  

  • 2 SET Trainees  

  • 2 Fellows  

  • 4 Unaccredited Registrars  

  • HMOs / Residents and Interns  

  • 7 Urology Specialist Nurses  

   

Subspecialty expertise:  

  • Uro-oncology  

  • Stone disease  

  • Endo-urology  

  • Reconstruction  

We provide high-volume exposure to complex uro-oncology and stone surgery alongside a broad spectrum of general urology for both adult and paediatric patients. 

 

Key Highlights: 

  • 5,000 patients managed annually across subspecialty clinics  

  • Dedicated clinics: stone disease, prostate cancer, LUTS  

  • Robotic Surgery  

  • Strong oncology partnerships with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Genesis Care

  • Proven pathway to Accredited Training Pathway (5 trainees in last 7 years)  

  

About the Role    

You are a motivated and capable registrar with a strong interest in Urology and commitment to patient-centred care. You are preparing for SET training and looking to consolidate your clinical, operative and academic experience in a high-volume, supportive environment    

  

About You

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:   

  • minimum of 12 months’ experience in urology-specific roles at resident level or above.  

  • Demonstrated commitment to pursuing Urology SET  

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills   

   

Essential requirements of the role:   

  • Primary medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent    

  • All candidates will require Australian working rights  

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)   

  • Employee Working with Children's Check   

  • Experience in core urological procedures (uteric stenting desirable)  

  • Strong clinical, organisational, and communication skills
