About the Role:
The administration assistant plays a key role within the Hospital in the Home (HITH) unit, providing customer focused service to our patients and families. The role requires strong computer skills, organization and ability to priorities workloads. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide a smooth, effective, and efficient service. The administration assistant is often the first contact for many patients, families, and other partnerships to our service. As a team, we aim to enhance patient satisfaction and trust through professional, compassionate communication, ensuring families feel supported and informed throughout their journey. Supporting clinicians to work at the top of scope by removing administration barriers.
- This position is Fixed Term parttime 64 hours per fortnight 0800-1630 hours Tuesday to Friday
- The position reports to the Casey HITH Nurse Manager
Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients arriving at the HITH clinic, answer phone enquiries, and confirm appointments.

Manage patient phone and face to face inquires and liaising with the nurse in charge

Registering patient information, admissions, discharges, transfers and booking of inpatient and outpatient appointments.

Stock control

Reconsolidating invoices and other clerical tasks

Liaising with other administration assistants across the HITH services from other sites.

Hospital in the Home provide acute care to patients in their own homes or alternative locations. It is an alternative to receiving acute care in a hospital bed. This is 155 bed services that cover the Monash Health catchment area and partners with other services within the community 365 days of the year.
