About the Role

Join our team as an Administrative Officer on a full time basis, fixed term 11/11/24-31/1/25, On Biala Unit in the Kingston Centre, Cheltenham. 

The Administration Officer is a key role within Biala, providing a customer focussed service to patients, their families and visitors. Working in a busy team based environment the Administration Officer provides efficient and effective clerical support to the clinical ward staff. The Administration Officer contributes to optimum patient care and actively contributes to the functioning of Biala.

About Us

Biala Unit is a 20 bed aged acute unit based at the Kingston Centre Cheltenham. Biala Unit provides acute care and treatment and intervention for those older people (65 years and over) with mental illness and behaviours associated with dementia that are not able to be managed either in their homes or in aged care. Biala Unit provides a multidisciplinary approach to the caring, treatment interventions, and support of those patients who are most vulnerable.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • Role model excellence 

  • Be able to create an excellent first impression of Monash Health by greeting and directing patients and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner 

  • Screen and prioritise telephone calls and enquiries for the Unit/Ward 

  • Relay messages in an efficient and effective manner, including enquiries regarding patient condition to the appropriate clinician 

  • plus other duties in in the attached position description
