Monash Children’s at Home – Clayton
- Apply your technical computer skills in this alternative care model
- Key role providing administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager, medical lead, allied health, nursing team, patients and their families as well as other key internal and external stakeholders
- Fixed term part time, 48 hours per fortnight, Monday – Friday shifts 1100-1930 with the flexibility to cover leave or vacant shifts on the weekends if required.

Through home nursing visits, providing education and support to parents and carers delivered under a range of relevant programs, Monash Children’s at Home provides healthcare services for infants, children and their families at home and in the community.
We are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced Administration Officer to join our dedicated team in a role that will see you working in a unique area at Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton.
About the role
You will be working with a dynamic team of nurses who are committed to Family Centred care in the Community setting. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work independently, but within a Team framework, providing effective support for the Nursing team. You will work collaboratively with other Administration Officers.
Your specific responsibilities in this role will include:
- Providing high quality reception/customer related service, and varied office, administration and clerical duties
- Maintaining comprehensive departmental databases
- Ensuring accurate compilation of data to enable issuing of monthly invoices to both Internal and External stakeholders.
- Preparation of reports (in conjunction with NUM)
- Assisting team members with computer related issues, data entry and minute taking
- Monitoring team movement as well as keeping record of equipment ins and outs
- Stock maintainence and ordering
- Fleet vehicle maintainence and use as required
Your experience and expertise
Through your previous experience, you can demonstrate:
- Proficient computer skills, using Microsoft (Windows and Office including Excel) and other hospital based reporting programs, such as iPM, EMR, SMR and HMS.
- Demonstrated accountability for providing high quality service
- Ability to work 1100-1930 weekdays with the ability to cover leave across weekend and earlier shifts if required
- Proven ability to apply excellent critical thinking skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills to effectively assist with family/ staff enquiries
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and efficient office processes to ensure best practice.
You are a dedicated professional and can demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in both decision-making and work planning. Previous experience in a hospital setting will be highly regarded and experience with hospital based reporting systems is highly desirable.
