Our Journey - Pre-Admission Services at Monash Health
The Pre-admission Service is responsible for the clinical preparation of patients undergoing surgery or interventional procedures. Preadmissions is looking to recruit an experienced clerical staff member with a knowledge of coordinating outpatient clinics. We are looking for someone that is highly motivated, can work both independently and within a team to support our patients in their elective surgery journey.

Part time, permanent (ongoing), 48 hours per fortnight (Monday to Friday)

Working across Monash Health’s Moorabbin and Clayton sites
A Day in the Life
Within this role you will work closely with the Preadmission Nurse, Perioperative Liaison Nurses (PLN), surgical doctors, anaesthetics team, pharmacy and allied health prepare patient for the elective procedure. Day to day tasks include:

Creating an excellent first impression by providing a friendly, courteous and professional experience to all patients either by telephone or in person;

Admitting and discharging patients from the clinic and assisting in clinic flow

Supporting patients and their carers in relation to their contact and/or visit

Booking patient appointments with exceptional attention to detail.
About You:

Proven excellence in time management & communication skills including relationship building, cooperation, conflict resolution, influencing others and facilitating open discussions

Enthusiastic, compassionate and able to work collaboratively
-
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, data entry, information management, and document handling both digital and physical.

Ability to thrive in a busy clinical environment in an administrative role
What you need:

Willingness to contribute to the quality improvements projects within the department
-
Previous experience coordinating clinics highly desirable
