About Us
Cardiac Emergency at the Victorian Heart Hospital delivers specialist acute care for patients presenting with cardiac emergencies. Our administration team plays a vital role in supporting patient flow clinical operations and overall patient experience. You’ll work in a collaborative supportive team that values clear communication problem solving and professionalism. The environment is fast paced and dynamic with a strong focus on teamwork and patient centred care.
About the Role
Join our team as an Emergency Department Administration Officer, in a Part Time, rotating roster position at the Victorian Heart Hospital. You’ll provide frontline reception and administrative support in Cardiac Emergency and help deliver a smooth safe experience for all patients and visitors.
About You
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing friendly professional support to all patients and visitors
- Managing patient registrations, admissions, transfers and discharges through iPM and EMR
- Communicating with nursing and medical teams and assisting with patient enquiries
- Handling documentation tasks including filing, scanning, collation and preparing records
- Supporting daily operations by maintaining an organised reception area, assisting colleagues and staying calm and accurate in a busy environment
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Strong administrative experience with confident computer skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with patients and staff
- Ability to manage time prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy during busy periods
- Friendly professional attitude with a focus on patient centred service and teamwork
- Calm steady approach in high pressure situations with basic medical terminology knowledge desirable
Roster Requirements:
Must be able to work all five shift times, across a 24/7 rotating roster. Includes Weekends and Public Holiday
Shift times:
- 07:00 – 15:00
- 10:00 – 18:00
- 15:00 – 23:00
- 18:00 – 02:00
- 23:00 – 07:00
Must provide availability above contracted EFT by a minimum of two days, per roster period:

Submit availability and leave requests by cut off dates provided

Rosters are provided a minimum of two weeks in advance

Allowances and shift penalties are included on top of the base rate

Set days and set shifts are not available
