About Ward 40 

Ward 40 is a 20 bed General Medicine unit. After a complete refurbishment of the old CCU space on Level 4 of Monash Medical Centre, the new Ward 40 features bright and modern design features, refurbished employee amenities, and a design focus on patient and employee safety   

 

About the Role  

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Ward Clerk to join our team at Ward 40. We are seeking a ward clerk with a strong focus on customer service and time management skills who is experienced and enjoys working within a ward team environment. This role will give you the opportunity to provide exceptional front line customer service to our patients and support the ward clinical team. You will work closely with the Nurse in Charge and our General Medicine multidisciplinary team to provide clerical and administration support using a wide range of systems and databases, including registering and maintaining patient information. We are currently seeking interest for the following Ward Clerk shifts: 3pm – 8pm Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun and 7am – 3.30pm alternate Sat and Sun.

 

About You

You are a genuinely passionate and caring person who is highly committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a clear communicator you can build rapport easily with others and work well within a team. You are a proactive, experienced healthcare administrator who can work effectively in an autonomous role, and prioritising workloads comes naturally to you. You have:  

  • Extensive administrative experience (desirable) 

  • Friendly and helpful customer service and communication skills  

  • Proven organisational skills and can work autonomously  

  • Demonstrable ability to manage a range of administration responsibilities across several areas  

  • A quality focus whilst ensuring work is completed within the required timeframes 

  • Standards in thoroughness, accuracy and speed 

  • Ability to learn quickly and on the job
