About Us - Monash Haematology
Monash Haematology is a dynamic and fast paced department that cares for approx. 1.3 million patients per year, making it one of the largest Haematology services in Australia.The department provides care across clinical and laboratory Haematology services for patients with both malignant and non-malignant conditions.The team includes junior and senior medical staff, specialist nurses and a supportive and efficient administrative team.
About the Opportunity
We are a dedicated team providing vital administrative support to the Haematology department. We work closely with medical professionals to streamline processes and support high-quality patient care. Efficiency, attention to detail, and confidentiality are critical to the role we undertake. By handling the behind-the-scenes operations, we help create a smooth and organised environment for both staff and patients. The position will work within the administrative team to provide support to the daily activities, future developments and growth of Monash Haematology through the coordination of all aspects of unit administration.
This role is based onsite at MMC-Clayton 4 days per week, 8:30am-5:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the department through all aspects of administration
- Support and coordinate meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes
- Oversee and manage the Monash Haematology inbox
- Ensure support and coordination of training and performance enhancement across the unit
- Provide adminstrative and diary management support the Department Heads of Monash Haematology
- Answer and assist incoming calls to the unit in a courteous and professional manner
- Provide administrative support to Haematology Service Coordinator, Senior Administrative Assistant, Administrative team and Medical Staff of Monash Haematology where needed

You are a proactive, experienced healthcare administrator who can work effectively in an autonomous role, and prioritising workloads comes naturally to you.
You will also have:
- Administrative experience
- Friendly and helpful individual with exceptional communication skills
- Proven organisational skills and can work autonomously
- Demonstratable ability to manage a range of administrative responsibilities, across a number of areas
- A quality focus whilst ensuring work is completed within the required timeframes
- Standards in thoroughness, accuracy and speed
