About the Role:

Monash Health's Maternity Unit in Clayton Hospital is seeking a Ward Clerk to support the staff and join the team on a part-time ongoing basis (24 hours per week).

 

  • Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays (8:00am-4:30pm) – Part-time ongoing
  • Be the frontline support of patients entering the service
  • Work in a high-paced environment of the Maternity Unit

The Ward Clerk is a key role within the Unit/Ward, providing a customer-focused service to patients, their families and visitors. Working in a busy team-based environment the Ward Clerk provides efficient and effective clerical support to the clinical ward employees.  The Ward Clerk is the first person our patients are greeted by and therefore an asset to the team in Maternity.

 

The Ward Clerk should be proficient in:

  • Ensuring patient information is entered and maintained on the patient management system
  • Admissions, discharges and transfers throughout the Monash Health Network and externally
  • Assembling patient documents
  • Access patient information via the Scanned Medical records (SMR) as required
  • Administration and other clerical duties including word processing, photocopying, faxing, filing and shredding of confidential material

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

•           Experienced healthcare administrator who enjoys a fast-paced environment

•           Familiar with iPM, PFM, SMR, EMR, iPROC (advantageous)

•           Ideally you are familiar with the set up and function of an inpatient unit

•         Friendly, customer service driven individual with exceptional, effective communication skills

•           Proactive, organised and can work autonomously and multitask in a busy environment
